Introduction

Upanishads are perhaps the oldest discussions of philosophy known to man. Most of them are appended to the four Vedas (Store house of knowledge), which are the religious books of the Hindus. “Upanishad “ means “Come and sit near me.” And most of them are in the form of discussions between a teacher and his students. In various Upanishads , stories are used to prove a point by the teacher and some stories are introduction to particular Upanishad.
